GOSSIP AND SPIN

• Edwards ran in the 2004 primaries for president and was later Kerry's runningmate. Needless to say, that didn't go too well.
• The day after the general election in 2004, Edwards' wife Elizabeth was diagnosed with breast cancer. Elizabeth was in remission until March 2007 when she discovered her cancer had returned. The couple have continued campaigning, as Elizabeth has displayed her poise, intelligence, and courage on the campaign trail.
• Although Edwards' major campaign issue is poverty -- he capitalizes on his image of "two Americas" -- Edwards reportedly paid $400 for a haircut. A recent video on YouTube displayed his egregious primping:
