Edwards, too?

Yes, it's true. John Edwards has dropped out of the democratic presidential race.

Edwards has yet to win a primary (although he came in second in the Iowa caucus), and, unlike Barack and Hillary, he is on public funding, which limits the amount of money his campaign has.

Edwards has stayed in the race this far despite his wife's recurrent cancer.

In his speech today he said that he was leaving the race “so that history can blaze its path,” referring of course to Hillary and Barack.

although i am upset to see him go, its helpful to the democratic candidates in the future primaries. also, i think it was fairly obvious that he wasn't going to get the democratic vote. also...why couldn't he pick a side? that kind of annoys me...

It's possible that he's not endorsing anyone because he's looking for a vice presidentia spot on the ticket.

As a white, Southern male, he would help both candidates in the general election.

Then again, he may not want to re-live his 2004 experience as Kerry's runningmate, which was so flawed.

Any thoughts about where his votes will go?

definitely hil-dog... There has been a large amount of tension between him and Obama during the democratic debates...Also it would completely destroy Obama's campaign to bring him on board.

edwards couldnt deliever his home state for kerry in fact he really didnt help at all. i dont think clinton or obama would give him a second shot at it.

Edwards was a bleeding heart liberal. He never really stood a chance of getting elected in my opinion. I think his votes will go to Hilary, but there weren't that many votes for him in the first place. That's why he dropped out isn't it?
