GOSSIP AND SPIN

  • Romney's Mormon beliefs have been continually questioned throughout the campaign process. Although his ancestors were polygamists, Romney has said that he "can't imagine anything worse" than polygamy. Interesting...I could think of a few worse things.
  • At a recent presidential debate, Romney said that instead of shutting down the prison at Guantanamo Bay, “we ought to double Guantanamo,” in part so that detainees “don’t get access to lawyers they get when they’re on our soil.” Like Bush and Alberto Gonzalez, he isn't a big fan of the Geneva Conventions either.
